Abstract: The study was aimed to develop Balanced Diet Index (BDI) for Indonesian adult males. The spesific purposes of this study were to assess food consumption pattern of Indonesian adult males, to develop several alternatives of BDIs and to select the most appropriate BDI for Indonesian adult males. “…There was an association between adequacy level of energy, protein, fat and MAR and diet quality (r=0.3-0.5; p<0.01) and there was association between carbohydrate adequacy level and diet quality (r = 0.022; p <0.05).
