This research is to apply and develop a strategy of problem-based learning to increase the ability of higher order thinking skills of senior vocational schools students. The research was done due to a fact that the quality of outputs of the senior vocational schools has not met the competency needed by the stakeholders in the field, that has made the outputs difficult to get jobs, or fail to run a private business of their own. This research is a quasi experiment applying Nonequivalent Control Group Design, done at X TKR 1 class of 38 students and X TKR 2 class of 38 students of Senior Vocational School II, Kupang, NTT Province, Indonesia. The normality and homogeneity of tests were done to obtain the test of analysis requirement. T-test was done to analyze the data obtained. The results show that: (1) the use of problem-based learning strategy is superior to the conventional study; (2) the application of problem-based learning strategies capable of improving high order thinking skills of students, which is implemented in problem solving skills, teamwork, and self-confidence better. (3) in the future, the high order thinking skills will be very important in winning the job competition, find solutions to problems in the workplace and establish good cooperation with others, so it will support the success of their careers in the future.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menghasilkan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis multimedia interaktif pada pokok bahasan dimensi tiga materi jarak, proyeksi dan sudut, untuk siswa SMA kelas X dan mengetahui bagaimanakah respon siswa setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia interaktif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan berupa media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia interaktif pada pokok bahasan dimensi tiga materi jarak, proyeksi dan sudut. Pengembangan media mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi 5 tahap, yaitu Analysis (Analisis), Design (Perancangan), Development (Pengembangan), Implementation (Implementasi), Evaluation (Evaluasi). Subjek penelitian ini adalah 3 guru matematika SMA dan siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Nglames. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket pengembangan media, angket evaluasi media untuk ahli media dan ahli materi, angket evaluasi media untuk guru dan siswa, angket respon siswa, serta pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian pengembangan adalah: (1) Model pengembangan media pembelajaran yang dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu melakukan analisis materi, analisis aspek-aspek yang harus ada dalam media interaktif, analisis situasi, analisis karakteristik siswa, merancang media, mengembangkan media dengan menggunakan Adobe Flash CS5, mengadakan ujicoba terbatas di SMAN 1 Nglames, mengevaluasi hasil angket. (2) Media pembelajaran mampu memberikan dampak yang positif terhadap respon siswa kelas X di SMAN 1 Nglames dengan memperoleh persentase 75,91% dengan kriteria “tinggi”.
Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) menguji perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif antara siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kontekstual dan pembelajaran langsung, (2) menguji perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif antara siswa dengan motivasi berprestasi tinggi dan siswa dengan motivasi berprestasi rendah, dan (3) menguji ada tidaknya interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan motivasi berprestasi terhadap hasil belajar kognitif. Penelitian ini menggunakan model rancangan nonequivalent control group design dengan rancangan faktorial 2x2. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa SMK Negeri 2 Kupang, kelas X TKR yang memprogram pelajaran sepeda motor semester ganjil tahun 2013/2014. Subjek penelitian tidak ditentukan secara random tapi secara intact group, yaitu kelas X TKR 1 (38 siswa) sebagai kelas eksperimen (pembelajaran kontekstual) dan kelas X TKR 2 (39 siswa) sebagai kelas kontrol (pembelajaran langsung). Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) yang didasarkan pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan: (1) penggunaan model pembelajaran kontekstual lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap hasil belajar kognitif, (2) ada perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif yang signifikan antara siswa dengan motivasi berprestasi tinggi dan siswa dengan motivasi berprestasi rendah, dan (3) tidak ada interaksi yang signifikan antara model pembelajaran dan motivasi berprestasi pada hasil belajar kognitif. The purposes of this study were: (1) to investigate the difference of achievement among students who were instructed by using contextual instructional models and direct instructions, (2) to investigate the cognitive achievement among students with high motivation achievement and low motivation achievement, and (3) to investigate whether there is an interaction or not between instructional models and motivation achievement on cognitive achievement. This study applied factorial 2x2 design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects were students joining motor cycle course at odd semester in year 2013-2014, they were 77 students selected and grouped based on the classes, they were from X TKR-1 (38 students) treated as the experiment class, and X TKR-2 (39 students) treated as control class. The main data of the study was analyzed with ANOVA using SPSS for Windows version 17.00. This research aims to develop an interactive E-Book based on animation for Vocational High School students. The subjects in this study were students of class X Light Vehicle Engineering SMK YP 17-1 Madiun. This type of research is development research adopted from the 4D development model and carried out at the third stage: define, design, and develop. The instruments used in this study include media validation sheets, response questionnaires and learning achievement tests. Based on media trials in the field, the following results were obtained: 1) The developed media was very valid (good) with an average result of a media validation questionnaire by experts at 97.92%. 2) Learning Media developed is very practical, by getting a very good response where an average questionnaire of 92.12% gives a positive response, 3) Interactive E-Book media developed are quite effective, where the completeness of student learning outcomes reaches 87.19%. From these results, it shows that the animated animated interactive E-Book media developed is very feasible to be used in supporting learning activities in the classroom.
This research is aimed to measure the efficiency of Islamic Insurance Companies in Indonesia by using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The sample used in this research are the Islamic Insurance Companies that publishes their full financial statements from the years 2012-2014. The variables in this study consists of two kinds of variables, namely input variables and output variables. The variable input is the total assets and the cost of commissions. While the variable output is the gross contribution and investment income. This study uses the intermediation approach with input orientation and use three types of measurements are the measurement of the efficiency of technical efficiency, pure technical and scale. The results of this study are in the groups of Islamic General Insurance Companies and Islamic Life Insurance Companies there are no company that achieve optimal efficiency levels in the three types of measurements.Whereas in the group Syariah General Insurance Unit are 2 companies optimally efficient in 3 measurements or by 28.57% of the total companies sampled in this group. And the group Syariah Life Insurance Unit are 4 companies optimally efficient in 3 measurements or 25% of total companies sampled in this group.
