Indonesia is a country that is vulnerable to disasters. The position of Indonesia which is located at the confluence of several plates in the world makes the potential for disaster to be high. Realizing this, the government responded by issuing regulations on disaster mitigation learning at the secondary school level. Mitigation learning can be absorbed perfectly; it should be taken as an example that is close to the community as an example of local culture. An example of good acculturation between culture and disaster is the Smong culture that is in Simeulue. The Smong culture helps save more lives than the area around it. Therefore, an inventory of local culture is needed which leads to disaster mitigation so that it can be absorbed and modified as an alternative in disaster mitigation learning. The method used is literature study. The results obtained in the form of an explanation of Aceh’s local culture relating to disaster mitigation, how the existence of Aceh’s local culture related to disaster mitigation, and how education can be a vehicle of existence from Aceh’s local culture in terms of disaster mitigation.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tokoh dan penokohan dalam novel Keajaiban Adam karya Gusti M Fabiano. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik. Sumber data diperoleh dari novel Keajaiban Adam yang berkaitan dengan tokoh dan penokohan. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode dokumentasi dalam pengumpulan data. Hasil analisis yang telah didapatkan dalam novel Keajaiban Adam karya Gusti M Fabiano menunjukkan bahwa pengarang memunculkan dua puluh tiga identitas tokoh dalam novel Keajaiban Adam karya Gusti M Fabiano. Ada beberapa tokoh yang dikategorikan lebih dari satu perannya. Penokohan dalam novel ini dideskripsikan melalui watak setiap tokoh dan digambarkan dalam dua teknik, yaitu teknik ekspositori dan teknik dramatik. Penulis berharap kepada pengarang novel Gusti M Fabiano untuk menampilkan tokoh pada novel dengan penokohan yang lebih menarik lagi, khususnya pada tokoh utama novel. Tokoh Adam dalam novel Keajaiban Adam terkesan begitu sempurna tanpa adanya karakter negatif sedikitpun dan hal ini sulit dijumpai pada karakter manusia pada umumnya.

The purpose of this research is to understand the meaning of the peusijeuk tradition in heterogeneous societies and its current position, especially in Langsa City. This study will be carried out as a qualitative study with a descriptive type of study. The use of qualitative descriptive methods is considered appropriate in this study, because it reveals the ongoing situation. Through field research, it was found that the peusijuek tradition is one of the Acehnese cultures which is still maintained by the people in Aceh, in that tradition contains Islamic religious values. This can be seen from the point of view that Islam has a universal concept that is able to unite and merge into various civilizations and cultures. For people in Aceh, the peusijuek tradition has a very philosophical meaning and purpose, namely to ask for and obtain safety, peace, and happiness in life. The conclusions in this study are: For people in Aceh, especially Langsa City, the peusijuek tradition has a very philosophical meaning and purpose, namely to ask for and obtain safety, peace, and happiness in life.

This service aims to provide assistance and guidance for high school teachers in East Aceh Regency to prepare questions based on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). This community service activity aims to (1) assist teachers in increasing understanding of the evaluation of learning outcomes, (2) increase teachers' understanding of HOTS questions, and (3) improve teachers' pedagogical abilities in making HOTS questions, so that later HOTS questions are obtained in accordance with 2013 curriculum standards revision. This community service activity was carried out in the form of short training for four face-to-face meetings by complying with Health protocols and three online discussions through the Whatsapp group application. This activity was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Peureulak, East Aceh Regency, which was attended by high school Indonesian language studies teachers in East Aceh Regency. The methods applied in the implementation of this activity are tutorial, discussion, simulation and demonstration methods. The result of the service from this activity is an increase in the teacher's understanding of HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) questions and the teacher's ability to make HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) questions.

Penelitian ini berjudul “Kajian Sosiologis Sastra dalam  Novel Arah Langkah Karya Fiersa Besary”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan  kajian sosiologis sastra dalam  Novel Arah Langkah Karya Fiersa Besari. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sumber data diperoleh dari  novel yang berjudul novel Arah langkah karya Fiersa Besary, terbit tahun 2018. Diterbitkan oleh penerbit Mizan dengan tebal 304 halaman. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah dengan membaca setiap teks dari novel yang didalamnya terdapat (a) struktur novel meliputi tokoh dan penokohan, latar dan alur. (b)  aspek sosial. (c) perubahan sosial tokoh utama. Novel menggunakan bahasa Indonesia, namun juga disisipi oleh beberapa kosa kata berbahasa Sunda sebagai salah satu penunjukan identitas pengarang yang merupakan orang asli Jawa Barat. Kemudian kosa kata bahasa Nias, Bugis, dan Manado. Novel Arah Langkah juga mengangkat kisah seputar dunia pendidikan dalam lingkup pemandu wisata dan tentang derah daerah wisata yang tersebar di Indonesia sehingga aspek pengetahuan yang ditonjolkan adalah pengetahuan tentang pariwisata di Indonesia.
