ABSTRAK. Pemupukan berimbang merupakan syarat pokok keberhasilan dalam meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman terung. Salah satu upaya dengan mencari dosis pupuk yang tepat. Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi dosis pupuk N,P, dan K terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terung. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari -Juli 2013 di Kebun Percobaan Balai Penelitian Tanaman Buah Tropika, Wera, Subang. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok dengan 11 perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, Tropika terdiri dari: (a) 0 kg/ha (kontrol), (b) 0 kg N/ha + 100 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 75 kg K 2 O/ha, (c) 100 kg N/ha + 100 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 75 kg K 2 O/ha, (d) 200 kg N/ha + 100 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 75 kg K 2 O/ha, (e) 300 kg N/ha + 100 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 75kg K 2 O/ha, (f) 100 kg N/ha + 0 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 75 kg K 2 O/ha, (g) 100 kg N/ha + 200 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 75 kg K 2 O/ha, (h) 100 kg N/ha + 300 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 75 kg K 2 O/ha, (i) 100 kg N/ha + 100 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 0 kg K 2 O/ha, (j) 100 kg N/ha + 100 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 150 kg K 2 O/ha, dan (k) 100 kg N/ha + 100 kg P 2 O 5 /ha + 225 kg K 2 O/ha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemupukan NPK berpengaruh baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terung, perlakuan dosis pupuk NPK sebanyak 200 kg/ha, 100 kg P 2 O 5 / ha, dan 75 kg K 2 O/ha memberikan pengaruh paling baik terhadap semua peubah pengamatan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini telah didapatkan dosis optimal sehingga dapat menjadi tolok ukur kebutuhan pupuk pada tanaman terung.Kata kunci: Terung; Dosis; Kombinasi; NPK; Pupuk ABSTRACT. Red palm is ornament plant which potentially to be cultured. The scarcity of red palm made it has high market value and need to be preserved. However, the germination growth of red palm is slower than other kinds of palm, so the best way to germinate the red palm seed is needed. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of apliccation some young coconut water concentration and kascing fertilizer to red palm seed germination. The research used factorial completely randomized design with 5 replication, the first factor is young coconut water concentration (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) and the second factor is germination media (steril sand and kascing fertilizer). Variables measured were live germination percentage, speed germination rate, radicula length, and plumula height. Results of this study showed that the best germination media is steril sand and 0% concentration of young coconut water.
<p>Perkembangan varietas-varietas bawang merah di suatu daerah ditentukan oleh keserasian dengan lingkungan, potensi hasil, toleransi terhadap serangan organisme pengganggu tumbuhan (OPT), serta umur dan mutu hasil. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji penampilan beberapa klon bawang merah dan hubungannya dengan intensitas serangan OPT penting. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Brebes dan Tegal (Jawa Tengah) dari Bulan Juni sampai dengan September 2011. Perlakuan yang diuji ialah 10 klon bawang merah hasil silangan tahun 2004 dan 2005, serta dua varietas bawang merah sebagai pembanding (Bauji dan Bima Brebes). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan ialah acak kelompok dan diulang tiga kali. Parameter yang diamati ialah pertumbuhan tanaman (tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, dan jumlah anakan), hasil panen, dan serangan OPT penting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa klon no. 2005/1 dapat beradaptasi dengan baik di Brebes dan Tegal, mampu menghasilkan produksi tertinggi masing-masing sebesar 9,95 dan 17,50 t/ha, mempunyai diameter umbi terbesar (1,87 dan 2,41 cm), bentuk umbi bulat, dan berwarna merah tua, sedangkan klon no. 2004/11 mempunyai pertumbuhan dan produktivitas yang tinggi, relatif toleran terhadap serangan Spodoptera exigua, Alternaria porri, dan Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, diameter umbi (1,67 dan 1,96 cm), bentuk umbi bulat, dan berwarna merah tua, sedangkan klon no. 2004/10 dan no. 2005/19 sangat rentan terhadap serangan hama S. exigua, penyakit A. porri, dan C. gloeosporioides. Klon-klon yang mempunyai tingkat serangan rendah/toleran terhadap OPT merupakan klon harapan bawang merah toleran/tahan OPT. Namun demikian, penggunaan pestisida sesuai dengan konsep pengendalian hama terpadu (PHT) masih tetap diperlukan terutama apabila serangan OPT tersebut mencapai ambang pengendalian yang ditetapkan.</p><p> </p><p>The development of shallots varieties in one location depends on the genetic adaptability, yield potential, tolerance to pest and diseases, harvest date, yield and quality. The aim of study was to evaluate 10 clones and two local clones as check, Bima Brebes and Bauji were conducted in Brebes and Tegal (Central Java) from June to September 2011. The trial were laid out in a completely randomized block design and each treatment was replicated three times. The parameters used for evaluating these clones were plant height, no. of sprout, no. of leaves, yield and pests and diseases incidence. The results showed that considering overall performance, clone no. 2005/1 gave the highest yield (9.95 and 17.50 t/ha), and diameter of bulb (1.87 and 2.41 cm) in Brebes and Tegal respectively, clone no. 2004/11 produced growth and good yield and showed tolerance to Spodoptera exigua, Alternaria porri, and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, bulb diameter (1.67 and 1.96 cm) with dark red color, while clone no. 2004/10 and no. 2005/19 were identified as the most susceptible clones to S. exigua, A. porri, and C. gloeosporioides. This suggests that some of shallots clones could be good candidates for the new varieties of shallots. However, the use of pesticides in IPM concept were still needed especially if the incidence of pests and diseases reach the action threshold.</p>
<p>Pemupukan organik banyak memberikan kontribusi pada perlindungan lingkungan dan masa depan kehidupan manusia serta menjamin keberlanjutan bagi agroekosistem dan kehidupan petani sebagai pelaku pertanian. Sumber daya lokal dipergunakan sedemikian rupa sehingga unsur hara sintetis, biomassa, dan energi dapat ditekan serendah mungkin serta mampu mencegah pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian bertujuan mendapatkan formulasi pupuk organik sumber daya lokal untuk budidaya sayuran kubis. Penelitian dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Berastagi dengan ketinggian tempat 1.340 m dpl. dan jenis tanah Andisol. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Agustus sampai November 2015. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) terdiri atas enam perlakuan dengan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang diuji adalah: (A) POC kirinyuh, (B) kotoran kelinci plus (Kotciplus), (C) POC orok-orok, (D) POC kirinyuh + urin kelinci (1 : 1 v/v), (E) POC orok-orok + urin kelinci (1 : 1 v/v), dan (F) kontrol (pupuk kimia sintetis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pupuk organik Kotciplus dapat memacu pertumbuhan dan hasil kubis lebih baik daripada pupuk kimia sintetis. Penggunaan pupuk organik Kotciplus dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman kubis sebesar 4,42%, lebar daun sebesar 4,78%, diameter krop sebesar 3,26%, bobot krop per tanaman sebesar 7,13%, dan produksi per plot sebesar 2,43% dibanding penggunaan pupuk kimia sintetis. Penggunaan pupuk organik dapat menekan serangan penyakit akar gada sebesar 19,06 – 57,01%, namun meningkatkan serangan hama 12,12 – 27,5% dari kontrol. Implikasi yang diperoleh adalah pupuk organik Kotciplus sangat cocok untuk budidaya kubis.</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong></p><p><em>Brassica oleracea</em> var. capitata L.; Pupuk organik</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>Organic fertilization contributes to the protection of the environment and the future of human life. Organic farming also guarantees the sustainability of the agro-ecosystems and the lives of farmers as agricultural factors. Local resources are used in a way that synthetic nutrients, biomass, and energy can be reduced as low as possible and be able to prevent environmental pollution. The aim of the research is to extract local resources of organic fertilizer for the cultivation of vegetable cabbage. The study was conducted in Berastagi Experimental Garden with less altitude of 1,340 m above sea level and type of soil Andisol. The research was conducted from August to November 2015. The design used was a randomized block design, consist of six treatments with five replications. The treatments tested were: (A) LOF (liquid organic fertilizer) kirinyuh, (B) manure rabbit plus (Kotciplus), (C). LOF sunn hemp, (D) LOF kirinyuh + rabbit urine (1: 1 v/v), (E) LOF sunn hemp + rabbit urine (1: 1 v/v) and (F) control (synthetic chemical fertilizers). The results obtained are : Natural Kotciplus fertilizer can stimulate the growth and yield of cabbage were better than synthetic chemical fertilizers. The use of natural Kotciplus fertilizer can increase the high growth 4.42% cabbage, leaf diameter 4.78%, crop diameter 3.26%, the weight of the crop per plant 7.13% and the production per plot 2, 43% compared to the use of chemical synthetic fertilizers. The use of natural fertilizers can suppress the attack of the clubroot disease by 19.06 % to 57.01%, but increased pest attacks 12.12 - 27.5% of controls. The implication is that natural Kotciplus fertilizer is very suitable for cabbage cultivation.</p>
<p><strong>[Evaluation of Lethal Concentration and Lethal Time of Botanical Insecticide Against Beet Armyworm (<em>Spodoptera exigua</em>) in The Laboratory]</strong></p><p>Pemanfaatan insektisida botani merupakan salah satu pilihan untuk mengendalikan serangan hama Spodoptera exigua yang ramah lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menetapkan konsentrasi sublethal dan waktu prolethal insektisida botani terhadap larva instar ketiga S. exigua di laboratorium. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Entomologi Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran di Lembang ( ± 1.250 m dpl.), mulai bulan Mei sampai Desember 2015. Penelitian menggunakan metode pencelupan serangga. Mortalitas larva S. exigua diamati mulai 1, 3, 6, dan 12 jam setelah perlakuan dan diulang setiap 24 jam sampai 96 jam. Data mortalitas larva diolah menggunakan analisis probit untuk menetapkan nilai LC50 dan LT50. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mortalitas larva S. exigua paling tinggi terjadi pada saat 96 jam setelah perlakuan ekstrak bintaro (85,0%), diikuti oleh ekstrak akar tuba (82,5%), dan yang terendah diperoleh dari hasil aplikasi ekstrak huni yang hanya dapat mematikan larva S. exigua sebesar 57%. Dari lima ekstrak tumbuhan tersebut, nilai LC50 terendah diperoleh dari ekstrak daun bintaro (1.002,67 ppm), diikuti oleh ekstrak daun akar tuba (1.256,07 ppm), ekstrak kirinyuh (1.304,37 ppm), ekstrak suren (1.307,37 ppm), dan tertinggi diperoleh dari ekstrak huni (3.316,06 ppm). Waktu kematian 50% (LT50) S. exigua yang terpendek terjadi pada 33,50 jam dengan fiducial limit 23,24 – 48,42 jam untuk ekstrak daun akar tuba, sedangkan waktu kematian 50% (LT50) S. exigua yang terpanjang diperoleh dari ekstrak daun huni, yaitu 136,52 jam dengan fiducial limit 76,47 – 234,51 jam. Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa insektisida botani menunjukkan efikasi yang tinggi terhadap larva S. exigua sehingga dapat direkomendasikan sebagai komponen untuk pengendalian hama terpadu (PHT).</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong></p><p>Bawang merah; Mortalitas; Insektisida botani; LC50; LT50 </p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>Utilization of botanical pesticides is one option of environmentally friendly methods to control the attack of Spodoptera exigua . The objective of this study was to evaluate of lethal concentration and lethal time of plant extracts as botanical insecticide against third instar larva of beet armyworm, S. exigua under laboratory condition. The experiment was conducted at Indonesian Vegetables Research Institute at Lembang (±1,250 m asl.), from May to December 2015. Insect dipping method was used in this research. Mortality of S. exigua larvae was observed at 1,3,6, and 12 hours after exposures to the plant extracts and repeated every 24 hours up to 96 hours of exposures. The results of the experiments showed that at 96 hours post treatment, the highest mortality (85.0%) of the S. exigua larvae was caused by sea mango extract followed by Derris leaf extract (82.5%) and the lowest mortality of S. exigua larvae (57%) was obtained from spreng extract. The lowest LC50 from five of the extracts of botanical insecticide derived from sea mango leaf extract (1,002.67 ppm) followed by Derris leaf extract (1,256.07 ppm), Eupatorium leaf extract (1,304.37 ppm), Toona leaf extract (1,307.37 ppm), and the highest LC50 derived from spreng leaf extract (3,316.06 ppm). The shortest of the mean lethal time 50 (LT50) values of S. exigua was 33.50 hours obtained from Derris leaf extract with fiducial limits 23.24–48.42 while the longest of the mean (LT50) values of S. exigua was 136.52 hours obtained Spreng leaf extract with fiducial limits 76.47–234.51 hours. The botanicals insecticides were proven to be effective against S. exigua larvae, so it can be recommended to be used as components for integrated pest management (IPM).</p>
