The Mandarin Language Education Study Program at the Universitas Negeri Malang routinely reviews the curriculum once a year. The learning curriculum is intended to develop and be relevant to the needs of students at all time. One way to be able to adjust the curriculum to the needs of students is to know the learning orientation of students studying Mandarin. Hence, the purpose of this study was to determine the learning orientation of third-year students of Mandarin study program at the Universitas Negeri Malang in learning Mandarin. The supporting instruments used were questionnaire sheets and interview guidelines. Data were analysed using the Miles and Huberman analysis. The results show that there were four learning orientations in Mandarin, namely learning Mandarin because it is an important communication tool at this time; it is considered to be easier to get a job; the popularity of Mandarin; and Mandarin can increase self-confidence. Based on this, the orientation of learning Mandarin for third-year students of Mandarin study program at the Universitas Negeri Malang was extrinsic and instrumental. Information Gap model is a learning model that can be used to be applied to speaking skills. The Information Gap model can train learners to dare to speak independently and communicatively in teams through various forms of activity and stimulus variety. The study is useful for knowing the effect of the Information Gap model to the Chinese speaking skills for grade Tenth 2 Malang Senior High School and their response to Information Gap learning model. This research is an quantitative research with quasi experiment design pretest posttest control group design. The free variable in this study is the Information Gap model whereas bound variables to this study are Chinese speaking skills. The data acquisition in the study was a score on the results of experimental and control group' pretest and posttest results. The instrument validity test is performed by a sticky validity test and reliability test. The results of validity and reliability tests show that the instrument is valid and reliable. Data analysis is done by hypothesis tests that have previously been performed normality tests and homogeneity tests. The results of the study showed that the Information Gap learning model was effectively applied in speaking skills to the material of everyday activities and transportation tools in the grade tenth 2 Malang Senior High School class. Model Information Gap dapat melatih peserta didik untuk berani berbicara secara mandiri dan komunikatif dalam tim melalui berbagai bentuk kegiatan dan ragam stimulus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Information Gap Activity Normalism terhadap keterampilan berbicara bahasa Mandarin peserta didik kelas X SMAN 2 Malang dan respons peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran Information Gap tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian quasi experiment pretest posttest control group design. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah model Information Gap Activity Normalism sedangkan variabel terikat pada penelitian ini adalah keterampilan berbicara bahasa Mandarin. Perolehan data dalam penelitian ini berupa skor hasil tes berbicara peserta didik kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol dari hasil pretest dan posttest. Uji validitas instrumen dilakukan dengan uji validitas angket dan uji reliabilitas. Hasil uji validitas dan reliabilitas menunjukkan bahwa instrumen valid dan dinyatakan reliable. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji hipotesis yang sebelumnya telah dilakukan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Information Gap efektif diterapkan dalam keterampilan berbicara pada materi kegiatan sehari-hari dan alat transportasi di kelas X SMAN 2 Malang. The purpose of this research and development is to produce a mobile application YUXIHAN that is augmented-reality-based. The purpose of this research and development is to produce an augmented-reality-based mobile application YUXIHAN. YUXIHAN is a daily-life-themed Chinese vocabulary learning media that is equivalent to HSK level 1 for grade XI students. The research model used in this research and development is the ADDIE development model with five development stages: (1) analysis; (2) design; (3) development; (4) implementation; and (5) evaluation. The qualitative data used in this study were collected using questionnaire sheets as the data collection instruments. YUXIHAN has been validated by material and media experts and has been tested on fifteen grade XI students of SMAN 5 Malang in the Chinese cross-major program. Based on the validation of experts and the results of trials, it can be seen that YUXIHAN media deserves to be used as a Chinese vocabulary learning media for grade XI students, especially for the daily-life-themed vocabulary. YUXIHAN merupakan media untuk pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Mandarin yang bertemakan kehidupan sehari-hari yang setara HSK level 1 untuk siswa kelas XI. Model penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah model pengembangan ADDIE dengan lima tahap yaitu: (1) tahap analisis; (2) tahap desain; (3) tahap pengembangan; (4) tahap implementasi; dan (5) tahap evaluasi. Jenis data yang digunakan adalah data kualitatif dengan menggunakan lembar angket sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data. Media YUXIHAN telah divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, serta telah diujicobakan kepada lima belas siswa kelas XI lintas minat bahasa Mandarin di SMAN 5 Malang. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli materi dan ahli media serta hasil uji coba, diketahui bahwa media YUXIHAN dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran kosakata bahasa Mandarin kelas XI khususnya yang bertemakan kehidupan sehari-hari. ABSTRAKPenggunaan media dalam pengajaran bahasa Mandarin oleh guru-guru SMA di kota Malang sangat terbatas, terlebih lagi pada pembahasan materi yang sulit seperti pelafalan, intonasi dan ejaan; tata bahasa dan aksara Mandarin (hanzi). Dari hasil observasi ditemukan bahwa penerapan media pembelajaran dalam pengajaran bahasa mandarin dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa sehingga mempengaruhi tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi yang diajarkan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukannya pemahaman guru dalam menerapkan media pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin di kelas. Kegiatan pelatihan ini bersama dengan mitra MGMP Bahasa Mandarin Se- Malang Raya dengan tujuan untuk membantu guru dalam mengajarkan bahasa Mandarin kepada siswa melalui 汉语媒体 (Hanyu Meiti). 汉语媒体 (Hanyu Meiti) adalah media pembelajaran yang memaparkan materi bahasa Mandarin dengan jelas dan lengkap, serta juga sebagai alat bantu guru bahasa Mandarin dalam proses belajar mengajar. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari pengarahan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan. Adapun rincian kegiatan berupa (1) Memperkenalkan fungsi dan manfaat 汉语媒体(Hanyu Meiti) dalam pengajaran bahasa Mandarin; (2) Memperkenalkan langkah penggunaan汉语媒体(Hanyu Meiti); (3) Mendemonstrasikan penggunaan汉语媒体(Hanyu Meiti) (4) Guru mempratekkan secara langsung. Hasil dari kegiatan didapatkan bahwa terlihat sekali antusias para guru dalam mengikuti pelatihan yang dilaksanakan, terbukti dari para guru mengajukan beberapa pertanyaan serta merespon pemateri selama kegiatan pelatihan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan bahasa Mandarin penting dilakukan untuk mengatasi kendala keterbatasan media pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin dan juga dapat menambah referensi media pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin bagi guru. ABSTRACTThe use of media in teaching Chinese by high school teachers in Malang is very limited, especially in discussing difficult materials such as pronunciation, intonation and spelling; grammar and Chinese characters (hanzi). From the observations it was found that the application of instructional media in teaching Chinese can increase student interest in learning so that it affects the level of student understanding of the material being taught. Therefore, it is necessary to have an understanding of teachers in implementing Chinese learning media in the classroom. This training activity together with Chinese MGMP partners throughout Malang Raya with the aim of assisting teachers in teaching Chinese to students through 汉语媒体 (Hanyu Meiti).汉语媒体 (Hanyu Meiti) is a learning media that describes Chinese material clearly and completely, as well as a tool for Chinese teachers in the teaching and learning process. The implementation method consists of directing and implementing training activities. The details of the activities are (1) Introducing the functions and benefits of 汉语媒体 (Hanyu Meiti)in teaching Chinese; (2) Introducing the usage steps of 汉语媒体 (Hanyu Meiti); (3) Demonstrating the use of 汉语媒体 (Hanyu Meiti) (4) Teacher practicing directly. The results of the activity showed that the teachers were very enthusiastic in participating in the training carried out, as evidenced by the teachers asking several questions and responding to the speakers during the training activities. So it can be concluded that Mandarin language training is important to do to overcome the constraints of the limitations of Mandarin learning media and can also add references to Mandarin learning media for teachers.
