<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This study aims to describe the tolerant behavior contained in poems by high school students. This research uses a qualitative approach based on the theory of sociological literature. The results showed that tolerant behavior contained in poems by students in the form of (1) respecting others, (2) accepting and valuing differences, (3) being open to others, and (4) accepting differences of opinion. Tolerant behavior in poetry high school students tends to be aimed at the closest people, namely mothers and friends. Tolerant behavior is also aimed not only at fellow human beings but also at other living things.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku toleran yang terdapat dalam puisi karya siswa SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berdasarkan teori sosiologi sastra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku toleran yang terdapat dalam puisi karya siswa berupa (1) menghargai orang lain, (2) menerima dan menghargai perbedaan, (3) bersikap terbuka terhadap orang lain, dan (4) menerima perbedaan pendapat. Perilaku toleran dalam puisi karya siswa SMA cenderung ditujukan kepada orang terdekat, yakni ibu dan sahabat. Perilaku toleran juga ditujukan tidak hanya kepada sesama manusia, namun juga kepada makhluk hidup lain.
Abstract-This study aims at exploring the animal characters that can interact with human in Novel O, a semifable novel by Eka Kurniawan, using the perspective of animal studies. Results show that Eka Kurniawan makes animals as the major characters in his novel, of which are able to interact with human. According to the notion of socio-politics, animal is simply an illustration of recent human beings either in Indonesia or in a more universal context. In addition, based on Sartre's philosophy, animal and human have freedoms including but not limited to freedom of thinking and acting. They also have a right to transform into anything as long as they are responsible for any possible consequences. In connection with the law of human relation, human beings must respect among others, animals and nearby environments, due to the fact that the three of them are interlinked components of life.
<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>This study aims to examine and describe the values of social tolerance contained in the novels by Ahmad Tohari. Social tolerance is an attitude of mutual respect and respect for racial, religious, cultural differences and is polite and friendly to others. The values of social tolerance examined in this study include (1) courtesy and (2) understanding social identity. The approach and method in this research is a qualitative approach to the sociology of literature and text studies. The results of this study include (1) the attitude of courtesy found is illustrated by the attitude of greeting and saying goodbye when meeting, not saying rude or dirty, not refuting the commands of an older person, listening well when others speak, and not violating the norm or rules that apply in society, and (2) the attitude of understanding the social identity found is described by respecting and appreciating differences, understanding the rights and obligations of others, and not imposing the will on others.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah dan mendeskripsikan nilai toleransi sosial yang terdapat dalam novel-novel karya Ahmad Tohari. Toleransi sosial adalah sikap saling menghormati dan menghargai perbedaan ras, agama, budaya serta sopan dan ramah kepada orang lain. Nilai toleransi sosial yang ditelaah dalam penelitian ini, meliputi (1) sopan santun dan (2) memahami identitas sosial. Pendekatan dan metode pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan sosiologi sastra dan studi teks. Hasil dari penelitian ini, meliputi (1) sikap sopan santun yang ditemukan digambarkan dengan sikap memberi salam dan pamit saat bertemu, tidak berkata yang kasar atau kotor, tidak membantah perintah orang yang lebih tua, mendengarkan dengan baik ketika orang lain berbicara, dan tidak melanggar norma atau aturan yang berlaku di masyarakat, dan (2) sikap memahami identitas sosial yang ditemukan digambarkan dengan menghargai dan mengapresiasi perbedaan, memahami hak dan kewajiban orang lain, dan tidak memaksakan kehendak kepada orang lain.
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji sastra lisan berupa mantra berdasarkan konteks dan teks yang ada pada masyarakat dusun Dadapan. Melalui teori Albert b. Lord sebagai acuan utama dapat dipahami bahwa untuk mengkaji sebuah sastra lisan berupa mantra perlu melihat konteks yang mendasari lahirnya sebuah mantra. untuk itu diperlukan konteks performance yang mendasari munculnya teks mantra. Transmisi, komposisi dan formula teks mantra merupakan kajian teks bahwa teks mantra akan tetap eksis ketika ada transmisi dan komposisi sehingga dapat diketahui formula yang dipakai penutur. Berdasarkan hal tersebut muncul fungsi mantra dalam ritual kenduri bagi masyarakat dusun Dadapan baik fungsi Individu maupun sosial. AbstractThis study aims to examine spells, based on context and text, that exist in the people of Dadapan village. Through Albert's theory b. Lord as the main reference can be understood that to study an oral literature in the form of a mantra need to see the context that underlies the birth of a mantra. For this reason, the context of performance that underlies the emergence of the mantra text. Transmission, composition and formula of spell text is a text study that the spell text will still exist when there is transmission and composition so that the formula used by the speaker can be known. Based on this spell function appears in ritual ritual for Dadapan villagers both individual and social functions.
