PhET Simulation could be an alternative learning media for subject which is need laboratory practices that could not be adapted well in distance learning during pandemic of Covid-19. This study attempts to describe the effectiveness of PhET Simulation as learning media for laboratory practices during pandemic. This research is pre experimental research using pre-test post-test design with 30 students as sample that was taken using saturated sampling technique. The effectiveness of PhET simulation is seen from student’s concept understanding, and student’s response. The instruments used in this study was students’ understanding concept test sheet and responses questionnaire. The effectiveness analysis of PhET Simulation that is integrated in distance learning was done by analyzing students’ pretest and post-test scores by using paired-sample t-test, n-gain score average, and students’ responses. The results showed that there is significant increase of students’ concept understanding at α = 5%, the average N-gain of students concept understanding was 0.63 (medium), and also the implementation of PhET simulation achieved very positive responses. Overall, it can be concluded that the PhET simulation is effective as a learning media for laboratory practices during pandemic to improve students’ concept understanding.
The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of scientific approach oriented learning toward senior high school student’s scientific creativity. This learning was conducted in XII grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surabaya by using one-group pretest-posttest design. The methods of data collection were using observation, tests, and questionnaires. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the learning is effective to enhance scientific creativity students based on N-gain and was significant stated through paired sample t-test. Then implementation of learning got student’s positive response. Overall, it can be concluded that scientific approach oriented learning was effective to train senior high school student’s scientific creativity.
-The 2013 curriculum in Indonesia encourages educators to provide technology embedded learning activities. Blended learning is a learning method that combines face-to-face activity and ICT-based learning through several learning sources from internet in order to assist pupils to learn certain topics easily. This learning method can provide great effective experiences for learners by combining the different learning environments. The websites addressed which serve as knowledge sources in the blended learning method are
Direct learning has migrated into online learning since the education sector is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. One alternative to the online learning method is by implementing an online cooperative-jigsaw or virtual jigsaw. The study explores students' perceptions of virtual Jigsaw learning as an alternative model during the COVID-19 pandemic. The data were obtained through questionnaires given to the 25 students of science student-teachers at State Islamic University who have implemented the model. The perceptions to be seen are related to interest, effectivity based on the advantages and difficulties they have experienced, and syntax implementation during online learning using the Jigsaw model. The result indicates that most students showed positive perceptions and interest, also gained more advantages rather than difficulties. Moreover, the Jigsaw syntax is well-applicable though it runs online.
