This study examined how student at UiTM Bandaraya Melaka perceived green practices. Convenient sample of 200 respondents were surveyed. Students have positive perception towards green and findings show there is no significant difference on perception and there is significant difference in doing green activity. Result indicated that “recycle paper” is the most chosen activity done by respondents whereas “attending green conference” is the least activity respondent chose to get involve. The implications of this study are useful to student’s association; university and environmental organization as a guideline to organize green activities and to motivate students participate actively in green practices.
Students' perceptions, expectations and satisfaction in higher education are vital to be measured in order to improve the quality of higher education institutions. The paper focuses on these three variables specifically as well as the characteristics of female lecturers in higher education. There are many studies that focused on the teaching quality among lecturers in higher education, but few have provided emphasis on female lecturers and their traits for improvement of higher education establishments. To better understand the characteristics of female lecturers, the study sampled 134 students in a Malaysian public university to gauge their level of perception, expectation and satisfaction. The study found that female lecturers have the best soft-skills which in turn, make the students feel comfortable and welcomed in higher education institutions. At the same time, the students expect female lecturers to be more knowledgeable despite the fact that most of them feel very satisfied with the knowledgeability portrayed by female lecturers.
University colleges provide cafeteria for student living on campus to purchase foods. These cafeteria open on daily basis, located in separate building and usually within a walking distance from college. A college cafeteria system often has a virtual monopoly on the students due to an isolated location and less competition for on-campus food. There is situation where students must wait for a long time to purchase pre-cooked or ordered foods. The situation will become worse when students are hungry at night and the cafeteria is already closed. In addition most of the cafeterias are closed during semester break since only few students stay at the college. Alternatively, purchasing foods via vending machines are adaptable and acceptable since it operates twenty-four hours seven days a week. Vending machine can provide variety of foods and drinks with affordable price range. This study aims to investigate the purchasing experience among university’s residential college students by using vending machine. The result will help vending machine operators develop and customize their own machines to better serve the customers’ needs.
This study explores the effect of job stress's factors, role ambiguity and time pressure on job performance among employees in one of the water supply services companies situated at Muar, Johor, Malaysia. Besides, this study also aims to examine the most influential predictor on job performance among the respective employees. The study chose 144 employees from the respective company conveniently to participate in this study. All questionnaires were returned with complete answers by the respondents. Data had been evaluated through three analyses: descriptive, correlation, and regression analysis using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The results of the descriptive analysis indicated that the majority of the respondents were male, married and aged between 20 to 30 years old. Besides, most of the respondents have worked with the company for more than 15 years and SPM holders. Based on the correlation analysis, the finding discovered a positive and weak relationship between time pressure and job performance. Nevertheless, the result indicated that role ambiguity has a positive and strong relationship with job performance. Moreover, the study's findings based on regression analysis revealed that job stress factors had an influence of 55.9% on job performance. Another 44.1% was conceivably influenced by other variables that were not being studied. Furthermore, it also showed that role ambiguity is the most influenced factor of job stress on job performance. The finding of this study offers several significant insights and information for the company about the importance of job stress and its relationship with the employees' job performance.
