The aim of the research was to produce a profile of students' needs analysis about scientific literacy involving graphic organizers for science strategy to build scientific attitudes on high grade elementary students and produce prototypes of scientific literacy teaching materials to build the scientific attitudes of elementary students. This research is based on the problem of the low literacy skills of Indonesian children. The research objective can be achieved with the mixed method research method with the type of Plomp development. Plomp development steps, namely: preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment stage. The results of the study at the preliminary research stage, namely: the analysis of curriculum profile analysis, profile analysis of student characteristics, and analysis of student needs profiles. It was found that elementary students tended to open textbooks when they were in the learning process and they liked the red color for books. However, they have difficulty in developing a scientific attitude. Whereas in the prototyping phase, prototypes of scientific literacy teaching materials were produced using the graphic organizers for science strategy to build valid students' scientific attitudes. The prototype of scientific literacy teaching materials is ready to be tested. The results showed that science literacy teaching materials were very supportive of students' science learning activities in elementary schools. Elementary school students are enthusiastic about learning when using science literacy teaching materials. Science literacy teaching materials are very suitable for use in elementary schools as a companion book for elementary students in mastering science.
This research was motivated by the necessity of having student books that suit to the 2013 curriculum objectives, the characteristics of elementary school students and the characteristics of learning outcomes. The study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective elementary school student books based on thinking actively in social context. Employing a 4-D research model (define, design, development and disseminate), the data were garnered using tests, questionnaires, observations, interviews and documentation. The data from tests and questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics whereas the triangulation was used to analyze the data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the developed student books met the valid criteria with a final score of 85.25% (very valid). It was found that the student books are easy to use, time-saving, and useful to implement in the classroom practices. It could also enhance student learning outcomes in terms of spiritual attitudes, social, knowledge and skills with a percentage increase of 15.35%. As those books are valid, practical, and effective; they can be used as a reference for the learning activities in elementary schools.

This study aims to find out and measure 4 model factors that influence the readiness of elementary school teachers in implementing the 2013 curriculum. This research is a correlation study. The data used is quantitative data. The technique used is confirmatory factor analysis and partial correlation. This study shows that the four-factor model as a suitable and very significant indicator variable correlates with the readiness of primary school teachers in implementing the 2013 curriculum. This study confirms that the transformation of mindsets, understanding of 2013 curriculum concepts, ability to analyse the subject matter and teaching design are significantly suitable and relates positive to the readiness of primary school teachers as latent variables.
