The phenomena of radicalism and extremism in religiosity, especially are a global trend. They are widespread easily due to technological advancement, especially in the information and communication fields. This study tries to explore the mainstreaming of Islamic moderation in encountering such phenomena in Indonesia. It is qualitative research employing the documentary technique for collecting data, then analyzing them through discourse and content analysis. The results of this study indicate that, based on awareness of the reality of the struggle between radical extremism and the moderate Islam in today's global world, the portrait of "the beauty of Islam" Nur et al.; ARJASS, 10(2): 1-18, 2020; Article no.ARJASS.53252 2 consisting a blend of truth, goodness and beauty and a recognition to the highest respect of the preservation of man's religion, soul, offspring, intelligence and wealth, need to be probed and presented forward. Indonesia, -a country with the largest Muslim population and rich in diversity,can become a role model in countering radicalism and extremism by disseminating the practices of moderate Islam to its adherents. Abstrak[English]: Millennial era is always synonymous with the advancement of various lines of technology, including the development of modern telecommunications tools that lead to social media activities. Different groups almost enjoy today’s social media activities without exception. However, the impact of social media activities has led to various aspects of positive progress as well as an effect on harmful elements in the form of mutual ridicule, hoax news, and so forth. Maqashid syari’ah as the final value of the provisions of the Islamic law that carries the amount of protection of personal interests and the public interest is expected to be a response to social media activities today. As a literature-based study and literature review, this paper is expected to be able to contribute ideas and provide a solution to the various negative impacts of social media activities that occur at this time.Abstrak[Indonesia]: Era milenial selalu identik dengan kemajuan berbagai lini teknologi, tidak terkecuali berkembangnya alat telekomunikasi modern yang menimbulkan aktivitas media sosial. Aktivitas media sosial hari ini hampir dinikmati oleh berbagai kalangan tanpa terkecuali. Namun demikian, dampak dari aktivitas media sosial telah menimbulkan berbagai aspek kemajuan yang positif maupun berdampak pada aspek negatif berupa saling mencemooh, berita hoax dan lain sebagainya. Maqashid syari’ah sebagai nilai akhir dari ketentuan hukum Islam yang mengusung nilai perlindungan terhadap kepentingan pribadi dan kepentingan umum diharapkan bisa menjadi sebuah respon atas aktivitas bermedia sosial hari ini. Sebagai kajian berbasis literatur dan kajian pustaka, tulisan ini diharapkan mampu memberikan sumbangan pemikiran dan memberikan sebuah solusi atas berbagai dampak negatif dari aktivitas media sosial yang terjadi saat ini.
This research intends to evaluate Family Expectation Program to alleviate poverty through the lens of Population and Family Development Laws, Sustainable Development Goals, and Maqāṣid Sharīa. Poverty becomes a problem in human life and brings implications for individual and social lives. This condition has made the United Nations initiate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program, which among others, aims to alleviate poverty worldwide. As a member country of the United Nations, Indonesia welcomes this initiative by preparing several national poverty alleviation programs, including Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH)/ Conditional Cash Transfer Program. This study used a qualitative research approach with a case study and multi-site design to evaluate this program. Through the study locus in Tulungagung and Trenggalek Regencies, East Java, the results of this study indicate that the PKH program in the two locations is following the objectives of Islamic law, including the protection of religion (hifẓ al- dīn), the protection of human soul and body (hifẓ al-nafs), the protection of wealth (hifẓ al-māl), the protection of mind (intelligence) (hifẓ al-'aql), the protection of lineage (hifẓ al-nasl), and the protection of honor (hifẓ al-'irḍ). The results of this research hopefully contribute to setting up the poverty alleviation-based -government policies through family development programs to pursue Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) based on the values of maqāṣid sharīa.Kajian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi terhadap Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) dalam mengentaskan kemiskinan melalui pendekatan Undang-Undang Perkembangan Kependudukan dan Pembangunan Keluarga, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), dan maqāṣid sharīa. Kondisi kemiskinan telah menjadi masalah dalam kehidupan manusia dan berimplikasi terhadap kehidupan individu maupun sosial. Kondisi ini membuat PBB menginisiasi program Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) yang antara lain bertujuan untuk mengentaskan kemiskinan di seluruh dunia. Sebagai salah satu negara anggota PBB, Indonesia menyambut positif inisiasi ini dengan menyiapkan beberapa program pengentasan kemiskinan yang dijalankan secara nasional, antara lain Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH). Sebagai upaya evaluasi Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) dalam pengentasan kemiskinan, kajian ini merupakan kajian dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus dan rancangan multisitus. Melalui lokus kajian di Kabupaten Tulungagung dan Trenggalek Provinsi Jawa Timur, hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa program PKH di kedua lokasi tersebut sesuai dengan tujuan syariat Islam antara lain perlindungan terhadap agama (hifẓ al- dīn), jiwa dan raga (hifẓ al-nafs), harta (hifẓ al-māl) , kecerdasan (hifẓ al-'aql), keturunan (hifẓ al-nasl), dan kehormatan (hifẓ al-'irḍ). Melalui kajian ini, berkontribusi membantu pemerintah dalam perumusan kebijakan yang berorientasi pada pengentasan kemiskinan melalui program pembangunan keluarga sebagai upaya mewujudkan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) berbasis nilai-nilai maqāṣid sharīa.
This study aimed to reformulate the ijtihad of gender-responsive fiqh. Such ijtihad model is needed in order to respond to the developments and dynamics of life in the current contemporary era. Moreover, current social reality and condition are often associated with empowerment of and justice for women. Movements and responses toward women’s issues recently has been occurring quite monumentally on social media. Such movements represent a response toward media development, especially on social media platforms. This literature-based study collected data from literature studies and descriptive critical analysis. Through the critical analysis, this study found an interpretation of gender fiqh ijtihad model initiated through social media platforms.
